Testing with Acetal and Nylons

The iExtruder was used successfully today to perform test extrusion on ultra high melt flow grades of Acetal and Nylon. The polymers would be near impossible to extrude with traditional means, however the iExtruder allowed it to be feasible. The samples generated were then tested on our 3D printers and allowed B3D to explore the nature of ultra high melt flow materials on actual prints.

The Acetal would be an excellent material to be used for a bearing surface and could allow for more complex and capable items to be printed. The nylons offer superior strength and is a true engineering resin that is loved by engineers around the world. The high melt flow grades further enhance the 3D printing experience.
