Maker Faire Orlando 2015

Maker Faire Orlando just concluded and it was a fantastic event for those who attended. The event was split between the Orlando Science Center and the Museum of Art. Both locations had 3D printers and artists alike!  B3D was present and demonstrating the iExtruder capabilities. Attendees were shocked that such a small device was capable of producing high quality 3D Filament! the iExtrude was setup and running 1.75 mm ABS on both days.   The highlight of the event for B3D was demonstrating ...

B3D iExtruder, the premier bench top Filament Extrusion System

Hello! The iExtruder is Our New bench top, Filament System. If you are looking for a filament extruder for; lab use and entry level R&D, to create your own samples; then our iExtruder could be a great option for you! Our NEW iExtruder is a great alternative for R&D.     Our bench top Filament Extruder the; iExtruder…Attracted a lot of attention at the show!  I am happy to share with you that the; iExtruder generated so much interest, that we are working on our 2nd Generation Units! ...

Key Chain Dimensions!

Everybody loves custom things. People are learning about 3D printing and they are learning to love it too! Print your own custom 3D key chain and have a quick and easy conversation piece that is by your side everyday! For our friends in Delray Beach, The Wahoo Swim Club, we created a simple keychain utilizing their logo. Printed on our MakerBot 3D printer in just under 30 minutes, this keychain is a great give away for new and existing memebers alike.  Dimensions: Overall length: 2.75" ...

Testing with Acetal and Nylons

The iExtruder was used successfully today to perform test extrusion on ultra high melt flow grades of Acetal and Nylon. The polymers would be near impossible to extrude with traditional means, however the iExtruder allowed it to be feasible. The samples generated were then tested on our 3D printers and allowed B3D to explore the nature of ultra high melt flow materials on actual prints.  The Acetal would be an excellent material to be used for a bearing surface and could allow for more compl...

Filament Tolerances on iExtruder

Industry standard tolerances for 3D printing have largely been accepted at +/-.1 mm. Tighter tolerances are certainly available on the market place as extrusion companies continue to improve process, currently tolerances of +/-.05 mm are advertised by many. At B3D, our industrial extrusion systems (not the iExtruder) are used to produce filament. We can hold some of the best tolerances around, commonly +/-.05 mm.  The iExtruder has successfully extruded filament of various tolerance groups. ...
